Noise complaint leads to arrest for assault 2nd degree, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

On March 21, 2018 at around 10:00 pm officers responded to 1628 Columbia Turnpike to investigate a noise complaint. During the investigation, William W. Cody, III, 32, a resident of the apartment building become belligerent towards the officers. Officers interviewed Cody who then ran outside the building onto the sidewalk where he continued to yell and use profanities. When officers attempted to place Cody under arrest for disorderly conduct, Cody fled from officers and ran to My Place and Co., a restaurant next door to the apartment building. Officers chased Cody who ran into the restaurant. Cody continued to yell profanities and resist officers attempts to take him into custody. Eventually, Cody was placed into custody and escorted from the restaurant. Cody was charged with Assault 2nd degree, resisting arrest, obstruction of governmental administration 2nd degree, and disorderly conduct. The assault 2nd degree charge is related to injuries that Cody caused to one of the officers during the arrest. Cody was scheduled to appear in Town of Schodack Justice Court on April 11, 2018 at 6:00 pm.
