Traffic stop leads to marijuana and weapons charges

On Friday May 12, 2017 at around 7:30 pm, The Town of Schodack Police Department arrested Anthony B. Sliney, 23 of 18 Council Hill Way, Castleton, NY for Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree, Criminal Possession of Marijuana 4th Degree, and various vehicle and traffic law violations. Officer Harrington was on patrol on Scott Avenue in the Village of Castleton. Officer Harrington made a traffic stop of Slineys 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Officer Harrington conducted an investigation and discovered a switchblade knife and approximately four (4) ounces of marijuana in the vehicle. Sliney advised that he also had an electronic stun gun device at his residence and wanted to tu this device in to police. Sliney was arraigned before Schodack Town Justice Peter and released to Rensselaer County Probation day Reporting. Sliney is due back in Town of Schodack Court on June 7, 2017 at 6:00pm.
