Foot pursuit leads to multiple charges

On May 20th, 2017 the Schodack Police Department arrested 28 year old Krista Collandra of Schodack, NY. Ms. Collandra has been wanted by several agencies in the capital region for active warrants. On May 14th, 2017 Ms. Collandra fled from a Schodack Police Officer on foot when a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle that she was a passenger in. Ms. Collandra was pursued into the woods between Interstate 90 and East Schodack Rd for approximately one mile. Patrol officers were unable to locate her but contraband that was discarded by her was recovered by Officer Montross, who was the pursuing officer. An additional warrant for Tampering with Physical Evidence, Criminal Possesion of a Controlled Substance 7th degree (quantity of heroin), Obstructing Govemental Administration 2nd degree, and Resisting Arrest was issued for her arrest.

On May 20th, 2017 Ms. Collandra was observed walking through several backyards and onto Sand Rd by Officer Harrington who attempted to stop her and another foot pursuit ensued. She was apprehended moments after she entered her residence on Cross St. An officer suffered a physical injury to his arm while forcing entry. She was then arrested for Assault 2nd degree, Obstructing Govemental Administration 2nd degree, Resisting Arrest, and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana. Ms. Collandra was also charged with Arson 5th degree and Criminal Mischief 4th degree after she lite a fire in the Schodack Police Department’s booking room damaging a wooden bench. She was remanded to the Rensselaer County Jail with bail due back in the Schodack Town Court on 05/24/2017 at 05:00 PM for a preliminary hearing.
