The Schodack Police Department received a new IRS scam complaint. The victim received a call from a scammer who claimed to be from the IRS. The scammer told the victim that she would be arrested unless she purchased Walmart gift cards to pay the scammer. This scam has become very common. Everyone should be aware that the IRS will not contact you in this way.
