The 2018 Kiwanis Clove Run is scheduled for Saturday August 18 from 8am to 12 noon. The routes for this event are the same as in past years. A general description of the route is provided here. Schodack Police officers will be assisting with traffic control along the route.
For the 10-mile road race, runners will start in the Village of Castleton near the Castleton Elementary School. The beginning of the course is on village streets. The route then takes the across State Route 150 to Maple Hill Road. The route enters the Castle Ridge development for a short distance and then continues back along Maple Hill road towards Maple Hill High School. The route then follows South Schodack Road to Clove Road, travels down Clove Road to Muitzeskill Road and then goes west on Muitzeskill Road to River Road (State Route 9J). Runners will then travel north on River Road back into the Village of Castleton. The runners take a left up Stimpson Ave, onto village streets and towards the finish line near Castleton Elementary School.
The 5k and 1-mile road races will take place entirely on village streets. The only exception is that the 5k race travels out to the intersection of State Route 150, Seaman Ave, and Scott Ave. We ask that If you are driving in these areas, please use caution. Watch for runners and reduce your speed if necessary. As always have a fun and safe weekend!
