Investigation leads to arrest for grand larceny and criminal contempt of court

On February 1, 2017, The Town of Schodack Police Department arrested Megan Chapman, 36 of 1002 Muitzeskill Rd, Schodack for Grand Larceny 4th Degree, Criminal Contempt of Court 2nd Degree, Unlawful possession of personal identification information in the 3rd Degree, and Petit Larceny. An investigation by Det. Sgt. Thomas and Officer Roehr, revealed that Ms. Chapman used the victims debit card without permission and used the victims identification to pass checks from the victims checking account. Ms. Chapman admitted to the larceny and fraud. Ms. Chapman was arraigned before Town of Schodack Justice Wagner and remanded to Rensselaer County Jail in lieu of $10,000.00 bail. Ms. Chapmans return date to court is yet to be determined.
