EMS call leads to arrest for resisting arrest and falsely reporting an incident 3rd

On February 20th, 2017 the Schodack Police Department arrested 62 year old Jay Marsceill of Schodack, NY. Mr. Marsceill was originally charged with Falsely Reporting an Incident in the third degree after he repeatedly called 911 for an ambulance and reported priority symptoms when he simply wanted to go to detox. He has reported this 20 times in the last two months. When a Schodack Police Officer attempted to arrest him on the charge, he became combative and resisted arrest. During the struggle he grabbed the officer by the throat. He was eventually restrained and arrested. He now faces the additional charges of Criminal Obstruction of Breathing, Obstructing Govemental Administration in the second degree, Resisting Arrest, and Harassment in the second degree. He was remanded to the Rensselaer County Jail, $1000 cash or bond, and is due back in the Schodack Town Court on 03/08/217 at 06:00 PM.
