The Town of Schodack Police Department responded to a call of an armed
robbery in progress at the Jewelry Repair Center at 1629 Columbia Tupike
in the Town of Schodack. Two suspects had fled the scene upon the
arrival of police. Witnesses provided a suspect and vehicle description to
the officers. A flash broadcast was sent to all area law enforcement
agencies with the description.
Police located the suspects on I90 westbound at around exit 8. The suspects
tried to elude the police and lost control of their vehicle at the I787
southbound exit. The suspects fled from this point and police continued the
pursuit of the suspects on foot. By this time a number of officers from
various law enforcement agencies were involved in attempting to locate the
suspects. After an extensive foot pursuit, both suspects were taken into
custody in the City of Albany in the area of Huck Finn’s Warehouse. Police recovered two handguns, a revolver. Other property belonging to the victim was also recovered.
The suspects have been identified as Peter Watson, 21 of Rensselaer, NY. They are charged the following crimes:
Robbery 1st
Grand Larceny 3rd
Other charges are pending.
Both suspects were arraigned in the Town of Schodack Justice Court by Justice Wagner and remanded to Rensselaer County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
