Warrant execution leads to multiple charges

On July 21st, 2017 the Schodack Police Department arrested 39 year old Anthony Paradise of Schodack, NY. Mr. Paradise was wanted by New York State Police and Schodack Police Deapartment for violating an order of protection, protecting his ex-wife, on several occasions. Mr. Paradise was located in the Curtis Trailer Park and when officers attempted to arrest him he armed himself with a metal handle and resisted arrest. He was subdued using a “Taser” and eventually taken into custody without him being injured. One officer did substain injuries during the struggle and was transported to the hospital for evalutation. He was arrested for the follwing: Criminal Contempt 1st degree, Aggravated Harassment 2nd degree, Assault 2nd degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree, Manacing 2nd degree, Resisting Arrest, Obstructing Govemental Administration 2nd degree. He was remanded to the Rensselaer County Jail.

Charges for Criminal Tampering 3rd degree and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5th degree were filed later in the day when it was discovered that he removed a tire off of a vehicle in the Route 150 Park and Ride parking lot and attempted to place on his vehicle to replace a flat tire.
