Schodack Police investigate 1 car personal injury auto accident

On September 18 at around 4:15 pm Schodack Police Department officers investigated a one car roll over motor vehicle accident on state route 9 near Peacedale Road. The driver James Scheriff, 60 of Kinderhook reported to police officers that he lost control of his 1993 Chevrolet Corvette when a deer crossed the highway in front of him and he tried to avoid colliding with the animal. Scheriff’s car left the road, struck a guard rail and overtued several times. Scheriff was able to get himself out of his vehicle prior to the arrival of police. South Schodack Fire Department, Castleton Volunteer Ambulance, and Valatie Ambulance responded with Schodack Police. Castleton Ambulance transported Scheriff to Albany Medical Center for unspecified minor injuries.
