Yesterday the Schodack Police Department received a complaint through Town Supervisor Harris’ office from a town resident about an attempted scam. The perpetrator called the resident at home and told the the resident that he represented the Town of Schodack. The perpetrator then tried to sell the resident a credit card. Luckily the perpetrator was unsuccessful when the resident disconnected the call. The Town of Schodack DOES NOT sell credit cards. We urge any town resident who believes that they have been targeted by any fraud or scam (complete or attempted) to contact the Schodack Police Department at 518-477-8077. We will conduct an investigation into the incident.
