On December 25, 2014 at around 3:15 am The Town of Schodack Police Department arrested Nathaniel J. Quinn, 19 of 242 Schodack Drive, Castleton, NY for DWAI Drugs, leaving the scene of a property damage auto accident, unreasonable speed, failure to keep right, and unsafe lane change. Officers responded to 242 Schodack Drive for a report of a property damage auto accident. The defendants mother reports that he had been operating her vehicle and had been involved in a motor vehicle accident on the way home. The defendants mother reported that she believed that Quinn was under the influence of drugs at the time and reported this to police. Accident occurred a short way from Quinns residence where the defendant left the roadway and struck a fence and a tree. Interview by Officer Harrington revealed that Quinn had glossy eyes, slurred speech, and impaired motor coordination. Officer Harrington conducted field sobriety tests and Quinn failed the tests. Officers contacted Rensselaer Police and requested assistance from Sgt. Deso who is a certified drug recognition expert. Sgt. Deso conducted an evaluation of Quinn at Schodack Police headquarters. Members of Bruen Rescue Squad secured a blood sample for evidence at the request of Officer Harrington. The defendant was released to his mother on traffic tickets. Quinn is scheduled to appear in Town of Schodack Court on January 14, 2014 at 6:00 pm
On December 21, 2014 at around 11:54 pm on I90, Schodack Police arrested Chentel Grant, 21 of Bronx, NY for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 3rd Degree, unlicensed operation, and failure to yield the right of way to an emergency vehicle, all MV offenses. Officer Boehme was conducting a traffic stop on I90 west bound with another motorist when Grant failed to use due care for an emergency vehicle. Officer Boehme stopped Ms. Grant and found that her license was suspended for several violations in Bronx County. Grant was issued several traffic tickets and released. Ms. Grants vehicle was picked up by another licensed operator. Grant is scheduled to answer the tickets in Town of Schodack Court on January 7, 2015 at 6:00 pm.
On Friday December 19, 2014 at around 12:45 am on State Route 20, Schodack Police officers arrested Kevin M. Haskin, 45 of 14 Marra Drive, Nassau for DWI. Officer Harrington was on patrol when a Haskin’s 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe nearly collided with Officer Harrington’s vehicle. Officer harrington also observed Haskin’s vehicle cross the center line. Officer Harringotn then stopped Haskin for failure to keep right and moving from lane unsafely, both MV violations. Investigation revealed that Haskin had been drinking. Field sobriety tests revealed Haskin was impaired. Preliminary field breath test confirmed Haskin had consumed alcohol. Haskin was transported to Schodack Police headquarters where Haskin submitted to a datamaster breath test. The datamaster test revealed that Haskin had a BAC of 0.138%. Haskin was released after he was issued several traffic tickets. Haskin is scheduled to appear in Town of Schodack Court on January 14, 2015 @ 6:00 pm.
On December 17, 2014 at around 3:10 pm on County Route 7 near Rosecrans Avenue, Sergeant Reickert discovered a good samaritan helping a motorist whose vehicle had slid off the roadway into a roadside ditch. Sgt. Reickert interviewed the disabled vehicle operator, Nathaniel M. Goldsberry, 28 of Albertville, Alabama. Sgt. Reickert discovered that Goldsberry had been drinking. investigation and field sobriety tests revealed that Goldsberry was impaired. Goldsberry’s vehicle, a 1998 Chevrolet S10, was towed by Hadley’s Garage. Goldsberry was taken to East Greenbush Police Department headquarters for a datamaster test. The datamaster test revealed that Goldsberry had a BAC of .23%. Goldsberry was arraigned before Town Justice Bruce Wagner and released to reappear in Town of Schodack Court on january 7, 2015 at 6:00 pm.
On December 16, 2014 at around 11:30 am at the intersection of South Schodack Road and Schodack Landing Road, Schodack Police responded to a call for a motor vehicle accident involving a tractor trailer. Detective Morgan discovered that the operator Harold Wade Robertson, 54 of Dallas, TX was wanted for a parole violation from the state of Texas. Robertson’s vehicle was found to have several serious commercial vehicle violations by Officer Miller who is certified commercial vehicle inspector. Officer Miller subsequently removed Robertson’s vehicle from service. Sunnyside garage towed the vehicle. Detective Morgan contacted Texas Department of Criminal Justice and advised them. Robertson was remanded to Rensselaer County Jail to await extradition.
on December 14, 2014 at around 8:05 pm on Scott Avenue in the Village of Castleton Schodack Police responded to a report of an accident where a car struck a dog. Officer Miller responded to the scene of the accident and upon interviewing Harry N. Post, Jr, 57 of 14 Green Avenue, Castleton – the operator of the car – Officer Miller determined that Post had been drinking. Officer Miller conducted field sobriety tests which revealed that Post was impaired. The presence of alcohol was verified using a alcohol prescreening device. Post was taken to Schodack Police headquarters and administered a datamaster breath exam. The exam revealed that Post had a BAC of 0.095%. Post was issued traffic tickets and released to reappear in Town of Schodack Court on January 7, 2015 at 6:00 pm.
